It would be a tragedy if after 20 years of intense involvement I drifted away completely, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. ... Almost everyone else in the church thinks this minister walks on water, but I feel more like the little boy in the old fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes.
That's definitely a troubling thing. Church seems to me it should be a place you go because it brings you peace, solace, spiritual growth, love, a connection with the Divine -- *connection* rather than feeling marginalized and pushed away. I wonder if there's anyone you could talk to about this. Hey! Your Karuna person, would that be a reasonable avenue? Not to complain about the minister but to figure out *given* how you feel about her what you're going to do w.r.t. your involvement.
