"Another one, please...? Just a small one, thanks!"
Qi-Ling Zheng was still the same girl she'd always been-- fun, energetic, and altogether a tad bit over the top. But living the life she had been for the past few years had put her mind in a calmer state, luckily. She still kept her severe sugar tooth (it was an obsession now), and she still sported her optimistic smile. Of course, she still went by her nickname, Li, as opposed to her full Chinese name. Qi-Ling, she'd always held somewhat of a disliking for the name.
"Thank you," Li said with a small wink to the nice bartender. She sipped her colorful drink carefully, looking around the room at the dim light. She didn't know why she was so attracted to this place. It was so not her! Sighing, Li bent over and straightened her short jean skirt (yes, Li Zheng was wearing a skirtIn her peripheral vision, though, she spotted something that caught her interest. She didn't want to stare, but she did catch a glimpse of a young woman sitting in the corner of the bar, sipping her drink

Sunny was pretty much the same person she had been in school - miserable. Ever since the death of her parents two years previous, she had been a different kind of miserable though. It wasn't misery for attention, it was honest misery now. She hated how she had been in school, clearly acting out for her parent's and peers attention. Obviously it had gotten her nowhere because now she was lonely as anything. She watched the families come through the pub and yed them with jealously, envy and resentment.
She hoped none of the kids were as stupid as her.
The person Sunny had been watching carefully suddenly turned her way. Shit. She put her drink on the table which creaked in protest and tried to quickly suss out her nearest exit. It was Li and she couldn't let her first crush find her in a shithole like this, looking and feeling as rubbish as she did.
But it was far too late. Sunny Charles!
She looked up at the girl, feigning surprise but not a smile. "Li Zheng, I don't believe it."
Li covered her mouth with a delicate hand, barely able to hide her smile and let alone her joy! She giggled and took a seat across from Sunny, her eyes alight and her spirits completely lifted. Funny that Sunny should think of Li as her first crush. Li was exactly the same way!
"Sunny, I... I can hardly believe it!" she said, the smile nearly bursting off her face. "My goodness, how are you? I hope you're taking care of yourself!"
Li leaned over the table and planted a quick kiss on Sunny's cheek. She hoped it wasn't too forward, but what else was there to do!? It was Sunny bleedin' Charles! She giggled again before taking a drink.
"I'm fine, of course. My family moved back to China, so I'm feeling a little lonely. But other than that, I'm great!" Li cried, flipping the bangs from her face.
She was sure there had been crushes before Li, but the former Hufflepuff was the one that stood out as the first important one. Sunny had finally come to the realisation she was gay because of this girl. Woman. Merlin, she was a woman now, wasn't she? A quick glance at Li's profile as she joined Sunny was enough to confirm her beliefs. Yup, definitely a woman's body
