I would love to tell you, sweet Amarante, that I have always endeavored to be a man of peace rather than war. But the truth is, I took up arms to insure that my fellow countrymen were to all live equally and fairly. Rather than to be slaves of caste or class, I sought to level the field for all men - and women, too. I learned, too, over time, that even titles and priveledge can be used for good. In France, I have seen it demonstrated over and over again.

I do not question your affections toward your Lady, nor your preferrences toward the fairer sex in lieu of my own. *wan smile* I do not question these things at all but rather accept it as part of who you are. But know, that this man would protect and defend you and yours because of the good fight that you all have fought in turn to care for others.
