They do indeed slide around and have no cushion, but despite this, I still find them wonderfully comfortable, so I don't know...

I've never had a pair do that to me and I've been buying them since 1989. I find them extremely comfortable and trust me, I wouldn't put up with them no matter how cool they looked if they didn't feel right on my feet. I have no arches on my feet and needless to say, my feet get pretty tired of shoes!
