It seems to me that American's on a whole are deathly ignorant to the true values that our great country was founded on. Let me tell you a story I heard from my friend. I do not see how love could be something to work towards. I say that because we are a society of strangers with our own experiences and beliefs that govern who we are. To love everyone would discredit the diversity that we have. Granted it would also support it but it would also make the world a much more dull place in my opinion. Granted, Love is a very idealistic thing and should be a goal for sure, but I don't think it's possible for love to be that permeating.

You must take into consideration that I am also a Christian and a Buddhist, but over all I am a humanist. But enough with labels and identifiers. What really matters is that people are blinded by ignorance and unwilling to learn because of their passed down biases and short sighted beliefs.

BTW: Your right about Obama. It is United Church of Christ. I wonder if his congregation is open and affirming?
