I am not familiar with A Subtle Art. I will check it out. The last good thing I read was ... the title has gone right out of my head. And it fell apart at the end, anyway.
Mostly just playing that stupid flash game all day and talking to people in the chat room there. It's how I met my boyfriend. If we ever have kids, I'm going to lie to them and say we met at the supermarket or something.
I tried original writing a few times, but I lose it because I get in my own way. This year has been pretty bad, as far as my mental health goes (though still not as bad as the year I didn't eat more than crackers and drink soda and smoke two packs a day because anxiety was ripping my insides to shreds and no one gave a shit; no one gives a shit now, either, but at least I quit smoking and I can eat without feeling like I'm dying).
All of your reaction are belong to me That is to say: same here.
I'm still a little uncomfortable with all the nods to fandom.
Me too. Especially after the Caitlin Moran thing, it leaves all the more a bitter taste. But still: Mary, good, John shaves for Sherlock, good, Sherlock hears John's voice in his head, good. Also Lestrade!hug and Sherlock's parents
With that Caitlin Moran thing... It's just sad that the entire English-speaking culture has been dragged down to the level of only finding humor at others' expense. And not in a cheerful, you-silly-goose kind of way, but ha-ha-you-suck-and-should-just-die-loser kind of way
( ... )
My only hope if that Moffat doesn't ruin yet another female character. Seriously, guys at the BBC, just don't let him write women anymore. It's like he has a whiteboard with words like "Cheeky! Sassy! Sexy! Clever, but not upstagingly clever!" written on it, and that's what he uses to construct a hollow candy shell over an already conventionally attractive actress. Even when he tries to give them depth, it's like soap opera depth.
This. All of this.
Also, I don't want Mary to be fridged. I know it happens in canon but I genuinely like her, and even though I'm a diehard Sherlock/John shipper, I don't want her to be killed so that John can have more manpain. I mean this show isn't the most progressive ever in terms of female representation (to say the least) but that would really suck, especially if it happens in the last episode and it's written by Moffat (whom I've come to resent a lot since I've actually watched the last seasons of Doctor Who)

And Molly. Sweet, dear Molly. I already have some ideas for you.
THANK GOD! The Molly fic situation has been dire!
Gatiss soooooooooo spent the past two years reading fanfic, but I'm okay with that. Really.
Let us have some dignity and let us keep our shame to ourselves. >.>
If only we could.

Anyway. At least I'm not dead.
