Summary: "I saw him. I swear I saw him. And he saw me. But no one else saw him and when I blinked he was gone. Like the smoke from my cigarette, he disappeared into the air. I'm afraid. I'm probably losing my mind and going crazy but I'm curious. He wasn't just someone I imagined, he is real."
A/N: The only thing this fic has common with Twilight is the word 'twilight' in the name! So even if you don't like the Twilight-saga, you can read this ;D And everything Leeteuk has written is blue and what Heechul has written is gray.
[1] I got up at the same second as I woke up after the sun had settled. I didn't waste any time before I got out from my little cave in the middle of the forest right next to Seoul. I didn't care how messy my hair was or what I was wearing. I just needed to find that angelic-faced man, soon.
The first place I decided to go was that building where I had seen him last night. I didn't know if it was his home or that other man's, all I knew was that he had been there. I couldn't hold back a smile when I thought of him, looking at me with his upper body naked. His body wasn't bad except for those red marks... Actually, I would have been lying if I'd said I didn't like what I had seen.
All I had in my mind was he when I ran through the forest . It didn't take me long to get to the place I had been standing when he had been in the window. As a vampire I could run a lot faster than a mare human.
"Kangin-ah, let me in. I forgot my keys there last night." It was his voice. I recognized it immediately. I literally froze to my tracks. He didn't see me standing in the shadows of the forest as he walked pass me. At first I had no idea who he was talking to because he was alone but then I saw that little thing on his ear that he was speaking to.
Okay, I know now what that thing was but I need to tell you that I had been literally under the ground for over 65 years. So that was the reason why I didn't know anything about all those electric appliances, cars, elevators - everything was new to me. That was also the reason why I lived in the cave in the middle of the forest and didn't walk on the streets like the other vampires did. My clothes were all dirty and over 65 years old, used and duff. There would have been a huge mess if people would have seen me! People would have call to a police and they would have put me into some kind of mental hospital. Of course it would have been a mission impossible but now back to the story.
"I'm at your apartment right now. Call me back soon, 'kay?" That angelic-faced man said and then put his mobile phone into his pocket. He then walked to the front door of the building and tried to open it: failed. The door didn't open. I thought he would have gotten mad -like I'd gotten- but he just sighed and pressed a button on the wall. Then he tried to open the door again. It still didn't open.
All this time I was hiding in the shadows where no one could see me and just watched him. He was fascinating, he was beautiful and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't take my eyes off him.
I was so dazed as I thought of him and so deep in my thoughts that I didn't even realize that he wasn't at the door anymore. Almost panicking I looked around and spotted him walking away down the street. Even though I was used to the darkness and my eye sight was much better than mortals it wasn't that easy for me to keep an eye on him as he walked away and I followed. He was wearing black hoodie and dark jeans, everything was dark, except for his shoes. Fortunately for me, the shoes he was wearing were clear white. For me it was a bit weird to wear all black clothes and white shoes at the same time but it didn't seem to bother him at all. Kids these days...
I just followed him as he walked. I didn't do anything to make him notice me, just followed in the darkness like a cat follows a mouse just before it strikes. I don't know how long we walked but it seemed to be taking forever! That was one of those times I really hated mortals: they were slow as hell! But there's always a bad side in being an immortal; something I had forgotten because all I had been thinking was the man I was following. And the bad side showed itself to me once again when I passed one dirty little alley.
There was a young man, as old as the angelic-faced man I guess, holding a knife to his wrist. And then he cut himself. I saw the blood oozing out of his wrist, the pain was clear on his face as he just watched the red liquid dropping to the ground.
My senses went overload. I forgot the man I was following, I forgot why I was there. All I knew was the blood, fresh blood, and how hungry I was. I moved so quickly to the youth that he couldn't see me and took a firm hold of his arm, pressing my mouth to the cut on his wrist.
You know... I'd like to leave this part out but I really can't.
~~~
"You're so right. You can't leave that out." Leeteuk laughed next to Heechul, breathing on his ear as he read what Heechul had written. "I didn't know you followed me that night." He said. It wasn't really a question but the tone of his voice was questioning and waiting for an explanation. Heechul gave him an apologetic smile before he answered.
"I know. But it was only the second time I saw you."
"You haven't told me much about those days. What did you do when I was with Kangin?" Leeteuk asked and rounded the couch before sitting next to the older vampire.
"I think you have to read all I write and that will be all I shall tell you." Heechul said quickly and turned back towards to the laptop he had in his lap. But Leeteuk didn't let him continue on with the writing. Not yet.
"That's not fair. You know everything about me, even the time when I was born and I know nothing about what you did." Leeteuk argued and crossed his arm over his chest.
"Not true. I know nothing about what you did when the sun was up."
"I've told you pretty much everything." Leeteuk said with a pout. And it was actually true, Heechul was just too proud to admit it. "Anyway, keep on writing. And remember you promised to come hunting with me tonight." Leeteuk said and let a small grin form onto his face. When he got a smile as a reply from Heechul he tried to find more comfortable position -telling Heechul to lift the laptop and then put his leg on Heechul's lap before Heechul placed the computer on Leeteuk's legs and started to write again.
Lucky me, the alley was empty except for me and that youth who was clearly trying to kill himself. Now that I think of it, I did him a huge favor as I ended his suffering quicker that the knife would have done by itself. Well, maybe it wasn't the way he had wanted to go but at least it was faster than just waiting until there was no blood left in his body as his heart slowly pumped it out from the cut.
I moved my lips from the cut, licking the blood from the corner of my mouth, to see my victim's horrified face. He was already week but he knew what I was and I'm sure he was terrified and couldn't believe what he was seeing. I know my eyes were shining red as I looked into his eyes, seeing nothing but fear. And then I moved to his neck after showing him my fangs as to make him sure that he was right, that he was being killed by a vampire. I pressed my sharp fangs into the soft flesh, loving the way blood flowed into my mouth.
It was over in less than five minutes and then I was just sitting on the ground, holding his lifeless body in my arms and caressing his hair away from his face so that I could see his face. He was actually pretty good looking. His body was strong and healthy, handsome face and -when I looked into his walled which I found from his pocket- he wasn't poor either. At first I thought he would be some kind of drug dealer but his blood had been clean and it hadn't tasted... weird. So the drugs weren't the reason why he had wanted himself dead but maybe his love life? I will never know.
I spent a long time there, caressing the man's hair, thinking about all those reasons why people wanted to kill themselves by their own hands. Before I had gone under the ground I had been one of the five death-angels in Seoul. We were the only ones who had the permission to kill. Everyone was afraid of us but at the same time they also respected us. We vampires had silently agreed with mortals that we would only kill bad people, only the ones who deserved to die. Or old people who were suffering from some disease but it was pretty rare because we didn't like the taste of their old blood -and I still don't like it!
But the times had changed and I had to change with it. There were much more vampires in the town now, I could sense it so there was also less food so now I also had to do more work to find a murder or drug dealer from the streets.
I was snapped back to the alley from my memories of the old good time when a familiar laugh came from behind my back. I immediately jumped up, dropping the body to the ground and spun around. I was a bit surprised to see him there, in Seoul, after 65 years.
"You haven't changed at all, Chullie."
"Neither have you, my dear Geng." I answered as I approached the Chinese vampire. "Good to see you." He smiled at me, the smile I had fallen for so many years ago, then he pulled me into a tight hug, then kissing me passionately on my lips. I let him kiss me and I even responded to the kiss, it felt so good after being away from him, living in my little cave under the ground all alone, that I couldn’t pull myself away from him now.
~~~
After a good while we finally separated. He kept on smiling as he looked into my eyes, then letting his gaze wander all over my body, looking at my clothes, then my messy hair and then back to my face.
"Where have you been?" He asked, holding back his laugh. "And how damn long?!" Now he couldn't hold back his laughter anymore. His bright laughter filled the air, echoing from the walls of the buildings surrounding the alley and I could clearly see his beautiful fangs.
"Away." I said shortly. I knew he wasn't serious as he ask 'how long' and I was pretty sure he had been away too. It was pretty rare for a vampire to be on Earth for over 50 years in one go. It was really tiring and hard to be so that mortals didn't pay too much attention on us because we don't really get older, at least not physically. Before I had gone under the ground I had been living on Earth for over 60 years -64 to be exact- and I had been near jumping into a burning house. But then Hangeng had been there, my only child. He had saved me, talked me over and now there I was, with him in the dirty alley.
~~~
Heechul stopped writing. He literally did nothing, which made Leeteuk's curiosity grow. It wasn't usual that Heechul didn't do anything and just stared into the emptiness. Leeteuk lifted his eyebrow and sat up on the couch looking at the elder vampire. The expression on his face was unreadable. Then, without any kind of warning, Heechul stood up, the laptop and Leeteuk's legs falling from his lap and he didn't even bother to stop the computer from hitting the floor. Fortunately Leeteuk was quick to react and got a hold of it just in time before it would have crashed to the floor.
Heechul didn't say anything as he walked to the kitchen and lent on the counter. Leeteuk watched him from the couch with worried expression. He knew that if vampires could cry Heechul would be crying at the moment.
"Chullie?" Leeteuk tried to get the elder vampires attention but Heechul didn't react at all. Leeteuk tried to call him again but when there was still no respond he decided to read what the elder vampire had written.
"You didn't let me write about me and Kangin and now you're writing about you and that son of a bitch?!" Leeteuk yelled in anger as he read the text on the screen of the laptop. He knew he shouldn't have said such a thing when he felt Heechul's cold fingers on his throat. The laptop had fallen to the floor and now Heechul was on Leeteuk, pressing the younger's throat with his hand and he put as much weight and force to his knee which was on Leeteuk's thigh.
The pain in Leeteuk's leg was unbearable and the pressure on his throat only made it worse. The look in Heechul's eyes was cold -colder than usually when Leeteuk got him mad-, full of anger. Leeteuk thought he would get killed by this old vampire -for the second time- but then something happened. Heechul's gaze softened a little and the other side of his lips curved into a scary smirk.
"Are you jealous, my dear Jungsu?" Heechul asked. His voice was the same he used when he was hunting and sometimes he wanted to make his victim's death longer, more painful -and more enjoyable for himself- by speaking to them. And Leeteuk recognized the voice, almost too well. It made chills go down his spine and a cold blood-mixed sweat rose on his forehead. Now he was really terrified Heechul would kill him. He couldn't breathe -not that he needed to- but the pressure on his throat was slowly blocking the access of his blood in his veins and his vision was starting to get blurry.
"I know that I told you not to write about you and Kangin. But if you want to know more about my past you should keep that pretty mouth of yours shut." Heechul said. He clearly knew how week Leeteuk was getting. He was still so young, three years old was a baby vampire, and Heechul could feel the panic and weakness from the way Leeteuk's heart was trying to pump the blood that wasn't getting back to it. Heechul of course knew he couldn't kill Leeteuk like that, with only his bare hands. Leeteuk would just probably lose conscious but Leeteuk didn't know that and he was really afraid of what would happen.
"Remember..." Heechul paused to take a look at the vampire under him. Leeteuk's eyes had gotten light blue -almost white- and he didn't even try to fight back anymore. Heechul was pretty sure Leeteuk couldn't see anything anymore but he could hear what he was about to say. "Don't ever insult Hangeng anymore. He, or me, will kill you for sure if you do." He paused again and leaned closer to kiss Leeteuk's bloody forehead. "And I don't want that to happen."
Then the pressure on Leeteuk's throat was gone. Heechul stood up and casually picked up the laptop from the floor, like nothing had happened, while Leeteuk was coughing and rubbing his throat and chest as to help his blood flow again.
"I'm sorry Chullie. I shouldn't have said that." The younger vampire whispered, his voice was barely hearable but Heechul didn't miss it.
"You are right." There was a short pause as Heechul settled the computer on the table. "Let's just... forget it, okay?" He finished and without waiting for Leeteuk's answer he went to the front door, already opening it before he turned to look at Leeteuk who was still on the couch, looking at him. "You must be hungry." Heechul said with a smile. Leeteuk lifted his eyebrow but then smiled and hurried to the door.
