A/N: Another HeeMin fic. ^w^ This one is going to be fairly long (I hope). There’s slight one-sided!RyeoMin to start of with and quite possibly a few more pairings later on. Oh~ I made a pretty banner, but I don't have time to upload it at the moment.
-chapter one-
I can see the look in your eyes, but I know you’re not looking at me.
They finally convinced their manager to let them have a day off. It took a lot of persuasion and promises of working even harder when they came back. Most of the Super Junior members opted to stay at home and just relax. The life of a pop idol was strenuous. Their schedules were so busy that they were too tired to actually go out. That wasn’t the case for two of the members though.
“Hyung, let’s go to the zoo!” said a bright and eager Sungmin. It was 8am and he wanted to go outside and look at all the different animals. He didn’t want to waste the day. He tugged at Heechul’s arm, urging him to go outside. “Give me a moment, Minnie! I need to choose the right outfit.” Heechul wouldn’t go anywhere without meticulously dressing himself first. He finally chose what to wear and pushed Sungmin out of the room. “Sungminah~ Wait outside for me; I don’t want you to see me changing.” After a moment of hesitance, Sungmin happily bounced out the door ready for the day ahead. Heechul took his time, carefully putting everything into place - he always liked to look his best.
As he finally left his room, he bumped into Ryeowook. “Heechulie hyung,” Ryeowook shyly started. “I… I heard that you were going to the zoo with Sungmin hyung.” He glanced up at Heechul’s face to see his reaction. “Yeah,” Heechul replied. “So what?” Ryeowook seemed a bit nervous and fidgeted a bit. This made Heechul very impatient. “Is that all you had to say Wookie? I have to get going; Minnie is waiting for me.” Heechul started to walk away, but before he could get very far, Ryeowook grabbed his hand. “Hyung… can I come too? I mean… if it’s okay with you. You know… I…” he paused a little bit, wondering if he should continue. He decided that he would. “I really like Sungmin hyung… if you let me come, maybe I could get to know him better and he might like me too.” Before Heechul could answer, Sungmin came bounding down the corridor. “HYUNG~!” He came at Heechul with open arms. He consumed Heechul with a big hug. The younger boy looked up at his elder and smiled. “Are we going yet? If we don’t go soon, Kyuhyunnie said that he’d be coming too and I only want it to be the two of us!” His eyes were wide with innocent fear. He asked worriedly, “We still are going… right, Heechulie?” Heechul sighed and ruffled Sungmin’s hair. “Of course we are. I was just on my way out to you when Ryeowookah stopped me to ask a question.” Sungmin scrunched up his nose in annoyance. “Have you finished with hyung yet, Wookie? We have to get going you know,” he said pointedly. “At this rate, the zoo will be closed before we go!” Ryeowook looked at Sungmin with sad eyes. “Yeah, I’m done.” he nodded. “Have fun~” He walked away dejected. “Ryeowookah~” He looked back, hoping it was Sungmin that had called him but it was only Heechul. “Yes, hyung?” “Rest, okay? Ah… and I’m sorry too. You understand what I mean.” Heechul grabbed Sungmin’s hand and walked out the door with Sungmin happily by his side.
Ryeowook was extremely upset. He thought that Heechul would understand and would give him a chance to spend some time with Sungmin. He was a bit worried about approaching his hyung because Heechul was known to have a nasty temper. But in the end, it wasn’t him that caused the pain… it was his beloved. When he heard those words come out of Sungmin’s mouth… and I only want it to be the two of us! Well, that did make his heart ache. Sungmin was in love… and it wasn’t with him.
Heechul and Sungmin finally reached the zoo after a long and tedious bus ride. All the bouncing around beforehand had made Sungmin tired, so he leant quietly against his hyung and conserved his energy for the zoo. He was well unaware of Ryeowook’s feelings. Heechul, on the other hand, was. Throughout the whole bus ride, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for his dongsaeng. Young Ryeowook was so fragile and shy. He really didn’t want him to get hurt. Ryeowook chose the wrong person to fall in love with, Heechul thought to himself while absentmindedly playing with Sungmin’s fingers. He should’ve known that Sungmin was infatuated with me and I… I care very deeply for him too. He closed his eyes and hoped his throbbing headache would go away. He woke up to Sungmin shaking him. “We’re here, hyung! We’re here!”
