 Yes, I have fallen off the face of the earth.  And I probably won't return until August.  BUT.  I ran across a reference to the Mary Sue litmus test today, and I started reading through one of the tests of what makes a flat, boring character.  I started reading the questions and a lovely young woman popped into my head and I HAD to write this.
