This is super-cute and a great take-off from the song :)

No probs with the word limit because it was all good stuff. Nice to see that Stacie was able to help her dad despite her pain over her mother's betrayal.

PS, just how old is Mick?

Mick is...*tries to consult notes and cannot find them*...about 36 I believe. Steve is 27ish.

Stacie is a good girl :) If I hadn't been already way over the limit there would have been more healing for her. :( I actually left out a lot, but I felt I was focusing too much on Stacie and Steve's relationship when it was supposed to be Steve and Mick.

Ah. I figured he must have become a father around 18/19.

I hope one day you post the whole fic somewhere.

I had to check that this wasn't fem-slash due to the title..

Her Mom ran off with her best male friend @_@. Since Stacie is still in High School... yes, she should cry there's probably a warrant out on her Mom as well as an Amber Alert.

AWWW Mick in his pajamas showing up at school and that is one quick accurate daughter assessment. The kid should do well in university.

That has GOT to be the best graduation present ever given. *grins* Your Dad kissing your school counsellor in front of everyone is almost like them getting engaged. Good thing the kid is going away to school. They do not want a chaperone for the next part of their relationship.. giving pointers.. you know she would considering how she set up their meetings.

This was fun to read.

I wouldn't have believed anything good could come of that song, but you've proved me wrong. (The bit about the pyjamas was especially endearing.) Adorable :)

Awww, this was so cute! I love the take on the song, and Mick sounds like an adorable dude and a great parent. And I'm so glad that Steve stuck it out for his job, for himself and the other kids. It made him so much more (as if that were necessary!) likable, and their eventual reunion that much sweeter. <3
