*ack*
I got busy yesterday and I forgot about posting the 3rd day portion of the meme. So, I'm combining the 3rd and 4th days in this one post. Enjoy!
Day Three - A Book
Maurice by E.M. Forster
I recently re-read this book and it's definitely one of my favorites. It's the story of Maurice Hall, who discovers he is gay during the Edwardian period in England, and the trials and tribulations he goes through as he is figuring out who he is and what he wants, and how he is able to eventually find a way to be happy. I love how Forster shows two different interpretations of how men can love each other in the novel, (the Platonic/Greek view of love between men being more spiritual than physical and the combination of spiritual and physical, which Maurice eventually follows), and he uses the characters of Clive and Alec to highlight those differences. There are times when Maurice's character annoys me, with his sometimes sexist attitudes toward his female relatives and his attacks of self-pity, but, overall, I sympathize with Maurice's struggle and truly want him to find his happy ending, which thankfully Forster provides in the end.

Day Four - A Website
This was kind of difficult to choose, especially since a lot of sites I go to are about fandom-related stuff and that only really interests certain people, so I decided to go with the website I check every day for news, etc.
Salon I love their articles on politics and news, the different viewpoints that are expressed, plus the other reviews they have of books, TV shows, etc., which are always interesting to me. It's not the only place I go to for news/updates, but it's been one of the main places I've checked since the late 90s/early 00s, and if you've never visited it before, I recommend you check it out.
