This is lovely. It's achingly sad, but with a lovely hopeful ending. You've captured their mental states beautifully - and probably very accurately, imo - and your voices are perfect. Thank you for sharing :)

I think I love you for including this line. I've always wanted to include it somehow, his thought that it was a life he'd never have. This was so sad and broke my heart so many times over, but you KNOW that's how she had to have felt and I love how you've captured it. Beautiful work.

:) I love that line. I thought it was just such a beautiful image and I just knew that I had to include it in this story, because like you said, it's the life he thought he'd never have.

I'm glad that you think I captured Rose's thoughts. They were my thoughts on the episode basically, because I adore Rose so much and I was a bit let down with her ending. But I think that they'll be ok.

Sorry to get to the party late ... I've just finished moving & been without my computer for nearly three weeks (what torture!)

Anyway, this was one of the prompts that I suggested and you did a brilliant job with it. Not that I don't love the stories where TenII and Rose just immediately settle into their lives together (because I do, I love pretty much all Post-JE stories) but I just don't see that really happening for those two characters. It would be tough, and tears would shed and nasty things shouted and this is just perfect to show that.

It's never too late! Moving IS torture, so I totally understand! Hope that everything's going well on that front!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, since it was one of your prompts. I was honestly very intimidated by this prompt, but I wanted so much to write it, not only as a challenge to myself, but because I can't really see them being happy straight away either. Eventually, I think they'll be happy, but I think there were far too many issues that they'd have to deal with first. This was my humble attempt to work through some of those issues. :)
