Study hard. Apply yourself.

library_lynn had a friend in high school and college -- (still friends with her, I shipped her a package full of Xmas presents for her family. The two young kids love the enormous box the gifts came in, and playing with the bubble-wrap I put around each gift. Possibly actually unwrapping the gift-wrapped books and whatnot will be a let-down) -- and Lynn says that while she (Lynn) was smarter, Sandy worked harder. This usually translated in better grades for Sandy than for Lynn, if I remember correctly.

Grades can be improved. It's a lot of work. That's, incidentally, one of the advantages of the community college system: it's a "do-over" chance to start fresh. Might be one of the other reasons people push it so much. missmea went that route.

Most, well, half of the people are pushing the community college system on me. The other half (school counselors and stuff) are going with "You're too smart for community college! You NEED to go to a four year!" And I know its just so the school can look better and that's ALL they care about... but it has me split down the middle.

And hey, unwrapping presents can a LOT of times be better than the actual present :). Which is perfectly fine, since its a blast, if that makes sense. One of these days I'm just going to ship someone bubble wrap for their present, because I know -I'd- love it.

And think its cheap... but love it in its cheapness! :)

(As a note, where does Maria go to school now?)

Maria was studying for her Masters in Public History at U.C. Riverside. Right now she's between terms, though.

Her Bachelors in history was from U.C. Irvine, and previously to that she went to Fullerton College.

Well, that does make me feel better though, heh.
