Game Rules
Members have the option of competing as individuals and with teams. It doesn't matter which you want to do and you may do both or only one. Basically for the individual awards there will be a daily word count post made to the main community for you to comment with your word counts. These word counts will be used to determine monthly word count winners and highest daily winners for the month.
Also, we will be posting the top fifteen individuals and their word counts once a week for extra motivation. Awards will be given out at the beginning of the next month. As an added advantage and as a chance for us all to get awards we will be making banners for everyone who meets the monthly "quota" goal.
TEAMS
Team leaders will be picked by the team and they have the responsibility of reporting daily team word counts and the number of people who reported on the appropriate post in seasonwrite. Team leaders should friend seasonwrite or have some other method for keeping up with posts in that journal.
Points will be calculated at the end of each week. Weeks run Monday to Sunday (unless the end of the month falls during the week). The number of instances of reported word count will be multiplied by 1220. This number will then be divided into the total word count that should've been reached for that week if every member had written the daily goal. This determines the percentage achieved of the weekly word quota goal and will be multiplied by 100. That final number is the points earned for that week. Numbers will be rounded to the nearest whole number.
EXAMPLE:
Day 1 - 2 people 4100
Day 2 - 1 person 950
Day 3 - 2 people 3110
Day 4 - 3 people 5123
Day 5 - 2 people 1800
Day 6 - 1 person 1235
Day 7 - 4 people 6290
Total words for the week: 22608
Total of people reporting for the week: 15
Total should have for the week: 15 x 1220 = 18300
22608/18300 = 1.235 or 124 % of the total goal
This team receives 124 points for the week
