I also like that Wales made his appearance on the side (I don;t know alot about the Potterverse but somehow he strikes me as a bit of a hufflepuff, and I imagine Ireland as being very much a Ravenclaw!
This was really great and lived up to what i know about Moonlightens work. the characetrisation and sense of longing was wonderful. I also loved America in this. He was very America despite only being there for a while. I hope I get to read a little more of this at some point. I really enjoyed it!

I have a soft spot for desperate longing >__< I kind of imagine Scotland being the poster child for it when they first meet, haha. I don't think it ever really goes away even after they get together.. In the beginning, at least? Scotland always seems to be much more emotionally invested.
America does a lot more winkwinknudgenudge-ing after he finds out who exactly has been keeping Scotland up all those nights, usually when France is around, much to Scotland's horror.

Not to forget Alfred, that was a very cute role you gave him, I can imagine the two of them to have that sort of friendship going on.
And this:
Alasdair wonders then if Francis had not hit him in the stomach with the butterfly spell too.
was a really beautiful idea.

...so there's a continuation, right? :D Chapter two? RIGHT?
So here, enjoy my face with a glass of milk giving you a thumbs up.

Um.. no continuation planned as of this point? I have really weak writing stamina, haha. I can only go for short bursts at a time.

Will you be continuing?
This has so much potential especially with Arthur, it left me wondering the story behind his half blood heritage. Does no-one know they are brothers? And so many other questions.
I hope you develop this, it is really a gem of an idea. Well done you.

I don't think I'll be continuing ;__; I've mostly purged the Potter out of my system.
The one problem with AUs! Trying to figure out a way to have Scotland's extended family logically be.. well, family. Considering that they're all from different parts. Half-brothers? A parent with a penchant for whirlwind affairs that resulted in children all over the country? Grew up in an orphanage together so they're considered as close as brothers? Haha, I don't even know.

I think I have a tendency to fall into that trap though, about France taking advantage of Scotland. Not that I'm saying that Scotland would just lay down and let France walk all over him, everyone has their limits after all, but that these particular limits have a little more leeway with France than with anybody else.
Ahaha, yes, it'd be really great if someone did it with Scotland as his guard. Yeeep, still waiting for someone to use the bodyguard trope in a fic. Anyone?

I really enjoyed this, and love your characterisations and writing style. You write both Scotland's longing and France's charms beautifully, and it's easy to see how the latter leads to the former!
I noticed from your other comments that you don't have any intentions at the moment of continuing this, but I selfishly hope that you do write some more Scotland/France, even if not in this setting.
Fantastic fic, and thanks for sharing!

I hope I'll be able to write more in the future as well! The problem with me is that I'll have all these little bits and pieces in my head but it's really hard to sit myself down and write them out coherently.
