If Snape showed up in a post-DH fic...

Snupin-centric, I suppose, but anyone with thoughts on the subject is welcome to participate. I've been away a while - what are your thoughts about warnings and labels for post-DH Snupin (if that isn't a contradiction in terms)?

Poll Regarding older Snupin (Post-War, Post-DH) fic...

I like Teddy. I like him as a vehicle, I like him as a character. I like the idea of Remus having a kid.

I don't like Remus/Tonks. I don't buy it. Never have, never will. Tonks/Charlie, Tonks/Bill, sure...

But I like Teddy. And I do like explanations of them being alive. But as you know, I'm also a fan of OoTP compliant and screw the rest of the series. ^_^

I am still ambivalent about Teddy, but I'm willing enough. You know how I feel about Remus/Tonks :D

Since JKR killed then, I think its all fair game. I do like explanations of how they survived, but they aren't crucial - a mention of them starting a new life knowing they are presemed dead is nice though.

Both Remus and Severus had to live on the whims of others, so I think we should cut them some slack. If Teddy isn't central to the story, he never happened. I like the idea of Remus breaking it off with Tonks pre-final battle though.

I like your attitude. Right after DH I remember it was a little more crucial - everyone was describing exactly how Snape survived - but at this point an author could just mention the presumed-dead thing and I'm fine with it.

Thanks for the comment! I agree about breaking it off with Tonks before the battle - not sure I've seen that explicitly in a fic. Did you have one in mind?

Working on it :) Well not really I'm working on school and werewolf art at the moment, but I'll get back into it soon. Part of me just wants a confrontation about Remus not being Teddy's bio-dad.
I'm thinking werewolves only reproduce by bite- the curse extends to when they are in human form, so even if Remus is bi then he shouldn't be the dad.

I generally want some nod towards an explanation of why they're alive; canon's canon, at least up to the Epilogue (which is so tacked-on and non-integral that I don't especially care about it, though an EWE notice is useful). Likewise if Tonks and Teddy disappear from Remus's history then I'd expect it to be called AU.

Ha, I forgot about the Epilogue! I guess I don't generally think much of it. But for the rest, I'm with you - if there's pieces missing from Remus' past then it's not the same Remus that's in DH.

(Now, whether you *like* the Remus from DH is a different question... :)

Hee. I was talking HP fandom with my grad students and told them that I totally think Remus is a big gay werewolf... that the whole Tonks thing was a terrible mistake. They were a little weirded out by my slashiness...

Other: I don't care about Remus, really. ;)

Obviously, I'm on the other side of the fence when dealing with this issue. Sometimes I mention Remus when doing post DH Tonks fic, sometimes I don't. The further we've gotten away from the book's release, the lazier I am about explaining why/how she's survived. At this point, she just did. If the storyline warrants it, I'll mention what happened to Remus and I've included Teddy two or three times when it suited the plot to have her as a widow with a young child. Othertimes, I just divert from canon prior to the end of DH and don't deal with most of that year at all. It's up to you. :)

Ha, yes, I didn't list that one as an option, did I? Sorry for being so slash-centric tonight :)

And yes! That's exactly how I feel - much lazier about the whole issue. I'm glad to hear others are feeling similarly hand-wavey!

Hee, it's okay. Even from a het-centric point of view, I have no use for canon!Remus post OotP because JKR turned him into such a tool. I can ignore Tonks' stupidity (and there was a lot), but not his. :-p

But seriously, I'm lazy at this point. My last Bill/Tonks was post DH and I had Remus dying bravely at the last battle, but I never actually explained how/why Tonks was still alive. She just was. No one cared.

I like this. For pairing either one with other people without breakup angst, the other one died during the battle. I mean, it's easy enough for Tonks to just... not go.

Though, with how Tonks got to the battle, that can cause varying amounts of angst on the Snupin side. XD She ended up not finding him, he was off somewhere else surviving.

We've had all the flavours in your poll on lupin_snape, and I can say that there, anything goes, you know we'll roll with it.

On other communities and fests, though, you probably should be more precise in your headers. Silly people don't seem to want to read the story just because it says Snape/Lupin. *gasp*

It makes me all warm and fuzzy to know there's a group out there who will just accept that of course Lupin and Snape survived so they can be together and have all the sexy fun times together. :)

But I think you're right, outside of that, there will be some who appreciate a warning.
