2. Harry will nobly sacrifice himself to vanquish Voldie but Ginny will pull him back after the mythologically-mandated-mini-mort. Remember the season 1 finale of Buffy? Replace Xander with Ginny and you've got it. This way, when she and Harry live happily ever after, they'll be on even footing without a life-debt between them.

I think something like this will happen, but I don't know how to word it better than this: that Harry will die for a little while, but he'll be brought back to life, AND/or that the epilogue will mention that he dies at the age of 120. So I can't really say that Harry won't die, because I think there will be mention of him dying somehow and somewhere, but he won't die for good as a young man. There, how does that sound?

And re: Snape: Not dying is his reward, living is his punishment.I LOVE that theory, that Harry's not the only one who will have to learn about people and how to get along. Ooh. That opens up a whole new Snarry bunny farm

Let's try it again: I mean, he won't die as a young man and then stay dead. Of course if he dies it will be for "good".

You know, fabularasa has written pretty much only original fic since I've been in the fandom, but it's so good that I should definitely go look up all her HP stuff. "Rat's Alley" is now on my list. :)

The website that used to have her stuff was TOSed (heh -- I know how to use that now!), but bethbethbeth was coding and hosting some of it on her site, and recently I saw a bunch of her fics (not all, but the majority of her HP stuff) archived somewhere, and now I can't frickin' remember where it was. Someplace I was surfing around because other people's fics were there.....not Inkstained, not Skyehawke, not WTP because she doesn't write Snarry, not Moonshadow because she doesn't write Snupin......crip. I think I have it bookmarked on the other computer. If I can find it, I'll delete this USELESS comment and post a useful one.

Thank you so much for linking to these! I was surprised when so few people wanted to get into them with me around Easter. Usually my flist is all about a good geek debate.

I did think of something since then: If Rowling really wanted to bang us over the head with the metaphor... Ginny could transfigure Harry into a Phoenix at the last moment.

/am starting to be convinced that will happen

If Ginny transfigures Harry into a phoenix (or if someone discovers their animagus form is a phoenix anywhere except the epilogue), I will have to disown the book and write my own.
