Woah, interesting! I love the idea that they changed the path of each other's lives, like asteroids slingshotting around each other and changing orbits forever. I also loved these lines:

Ripper thought he might never be able to move again. It hadn’t worked. If he didn’t move, maybe time wouldn’t keep moving forward, and there would be a way to make Randall not be dead.

Great crossover idea, and a wonderfully explosive combination of characters. Thanks for this!

I have been waiting impatiently for this day to arrive so I could read this fic, and you've more than lived up to my expetations. This was excellent. It totally drew me in, and I was actually sad when it ended, just because I wanted to read more in this universe. Definitely bookmarked this, and as soon as I pick up another ink cartridge, I plan to print this one out. There were too many favorite parts to egin to quote, so let me just say that I loved all of it.

Thank you so much for writing this!

Thanks! That is good to hear.

Unfortunately, unless it was going to become a completely alternate universe, they did have to part company.

Definitely bookmarked this, and as soon as I pick up another ink cartridge, I plan to print this one out. There were too many favorite parts to egin to quote, so let me just say that I loved all of it.

That's quite the compliment. Thanks!

Oh, how fantastic. I can't believe I never considered the pairing before. It's just perfect.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was actually born of a conversation that involved drooling over Anthony Stewart Head and Alan Rickman, and things just sort of went slashy. *g*

First off, I love the sulky one-up-manship you have these two engage in:

“Guess I showed them,” he muttered as he exhaled a cloud of smoke.

“Look, you think I’m on your turf or something, that’s your problem,” Ripper said, leaning forward into the chair-back and glaring. “Me? I’m done following everybody else’s stupid rules. I’ll do what I bloody well want, and you’re not going to stop me. Not you, not your nancy-boy mates. Got it?”

Severus narrowed his eyes. “When the last thing you see,” he whispered menacingly, “is a bolt of green light, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Now get out of here. Never asked you to come sit here anyway.”

I also really loved the way you worked in the Eyghon bit and how Ripper and his group used the demon multiple times before 'something' went wrong - the Death Eaters breaking in was a nice something:

By now, Randall was not even remotely in control, and if the others hadn’t managed to get Eyghon back out of him without Ripper to complete the group, Randall would be in deep shit. If the others ( ... )

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. They're both all about proving themselves (or deluding themselves that they are proving themselves) at this point in their lives, I think.

It was a total shock to me, I tell you! Here I've got them in the Leaky, and suddenly not only does Lucius show up, but he tells me he's coming back later, and that's when the rest finally fell into place.

The humor of smoking mullien - an herb usually used to clear lung congestion!Actually, you can smoke it. I have. It's supposed to help with weaning off tobacco. I can't swear to that, but I wasn't hugely motivated at the time. It certainly doesn't get you high, though! *g* It also has the benefit of being an herb listed as useful for exorcisms that shouldn't be harsh on the skin when ( ... )
