I'm hoping you're talking about some crazy adaptation of Romeo and Juliet... and that you haven't lost your ever-loving mind and started bashing on the Bard....

no, of course not. I still love Shakespeare as much as I ever have. the new movie with DiCaprio, entitled "Romeo + Juliet" (emphasis on the "+")they made R&J, but without the original script. And, ironically, the dialogue was the part that was horrendous.
I love Moulin Rouge. I honestly thought I would hate it before I saw it, because I didn't like how they were taking modern songs and putting them in a late 19th century movie. Then I saw it, and managed to look past the cheesy music to the story, and I liked it.
Meh, differing opinions on movies... go figure... :)
I loved it. But then again, I'm also always looking for different versions of older songs (e.g. Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend) to see if they'll be suitable for me to teach from. Unfortunately, this one didn't. I agree about Kidman, though, especially after Cold Mountain.
