Writer's Block: Do you prefer a tent or a luxury hotel?
I've experienced both tent and luxury hotel, and it's got to be hands down, luxury hotel.
First of all, e-mail and mobile phones have gotten lots of play for being the best inventions ever, but IMO the best invention ever has got to be indoor plumbing. There is nothing like the absence of the smell of bodily functions. Just flush it away!

What the hell? I thought it was supposed to be summer. It must be this 100-degree weather we've been getting that is confusing the hell out of me. Thank goodness it finally cooled down last night. And by "cooled down" I mean 80-90 degrees ( Read more... ) -
Work, i.e., lack thereof
It's been a full 4 weeks since I have been unemployed, and to tell you all the truth, I don't really mind it. The Mini and I stay home together most days, and at least 5 days out of 7, my family gets a home-cooked meal. Mother's Day coming up
This year marks the 10th year in a row that I've had to spend my Mother's Day without any grandmas.
My grandma Aurora passed away in January of 1999 of breast cancer. Her first diagnosis was when I was younger than 1 year old, and she was diagnosed 3 more times after that. She was alive through my first 22 years because of chemotherapy, lumpectomies ( Read more... ) -
Prepaid cell phone
I've decided to go to a prepaid cell phone. I pay $40/month for a cell phone that I put <50 minutes a month on and about 100 text messages. (I tend to text a lot more now that I have a phone with a QWERTY keyboard.) This is including my company's national discount, so it's not a bargain ( Read more... ) -

the longest since I met her when she was a bump in her mother's belly. She is practically my little sister. Palin baby mama drama
I read the transcribed interview with Levi Johnson, the father of Sarah Palin's teen daughter's son, with Larry King Live. (Got all that?) At last count the baby is about 6 months old.
