That sounds like a brilliant movie. I'll check it out, but not yet... too depressed, and would rather stay away from tear-jerkers.

Thanks for the recommendation and review, though. I'll add it to my list.

It got rave reviews, especially for Victoire Thivisol, who plays the titular character. :)

It's saddening, no doubt. So yeah, avoid it if feeling blue-some. Speaking of which, why art thou depressed, Godiva-eyes?

I get that a lot. Makes me feel bad about growing up. :( Just kidding. Thanks mate. :)

Bloody rascals have grown up to be surprisingly decent. :))

Oh this film is pretty old. It was released in 1997. In fact the actress who plays Ponette --Victoire Thivisol -- grew up to portray Juliette Binoche's daughter in Chocolat. :)

You're saying this for the first time, I think. And I love the sound of it. ;) Thank you sweet one. :)

I can relate to this post very well, even I have gone through horrible experiences as a child. Just like you, I learnt to be my myself with only my thoughts for company. College was much different, thankfully.

The movie sounds very interesting...

Wow, is that so? I am sorry to hear that. I hated school because of the homework bit. But college absolutely rocked! :D

It's a fine film. I recommend it.
