Just two, but they are both absolute musts.

Time Enough by veronicaluv

You've heard of an episode tag? This is The Ultimate Episode Tag and then some. It starts post-Cyberwoman and finishes post-Exit Wounds 66,000 words later. It's all the in between bits between Jack and Ianto that we've all wondered about, and so much more. It's absolutely beautiful, ( Read more... )

SQUEEE! It Didn't Start Like This is amazing! I've read a few AUs recently that were very good actually. Like Me and Mr Jones by lady_sb.

I haven't tried that one. Looks like a WIP, though, so I'll probably wait until it's done and then have a go.

Don't let the fact that it's a WIP put you off. It's really fucking good (once you get your mind around that Jack's engaged to Gwen, haha)and being updated once every week or so. I think it's about halfway through now.

No probs! I think you'll LOVE it. It's exactly our type of fic!

Yeah, got a bit of a cold. Blerg. Been off work today :o(

Actually, while I've got you ... ~gggggg~ I was just talking with Ame about a grammar thing and we've confused each other. HELPS!!! Lie, lay, lain, laid. (Yeah, I thought I had it but I don't.)

Should it be?:

Present: I am going to lie down
Past: After she had lay down/After she lay down

And also:

Lay the paper on the table, please!
With a sour expression, she laid the paper on the table.

My brain hurts

Yay! We have BEST taste, so I'm sure I'll love it too.

I figured, because I wrote you and didn't get a reply. Blech. At least it gave you a chance to do some more reading. :o)

Hee! The eternal problem. I'll send you a brilliant table about this very thing.

Present: I am going to lie down
Past: After she had lain down/After she lay down

The next examples are correctamundo.

*pets your brain*

Oh Lain!! Confuzzled!

Thanks, honey!

I'm not sure if I'll be going in tomorrow so you can forward it if you like. I'm gonna see how I feel in the morning. It was lovely to just sit and read that long fic today, very relaxing and cheering (even though I did have a little wibble, but you know me and my wibbles).

Holy God, I just read Time Enough, and it was amazing. It's impressive whenever someone writes a solid, emotional, in-character piece, but when they do that while weaving an actual plot through canon, keeping everything we see in the episodes intact, it's incredible.

Thanks for reccing it!

Exactly! Real plot and canon. It's a masterpiece. As you read through it you can literally see how well thought out it is as the pieces are put together and everything unfolds. It's one in a million.

I love both those stories. I still can't believe there's so much great stuff in this fandom.

I'm very well, thanks, just hanging about doing nothing in particular. How are you, honey? Don't worry about the email; I'm absolutely terrible for replying myself. HEE!
