The bulb in my desk lamp just blew. I'm going to have to buy a new one. A new lamp, I mean. As much as love my little purple friend, it time to let it rest; I'm sure the wires sticking out from the base can't be good ( Read more... )

On the bright side, my aunt is coming to visit on the same weekend that I'm at Writercon. Yay! That takes an enormous amount of pressure off me. Grandad will be looked after on the Saturday and the Sunday.

Yay! Grandad will be looked after Saturday and Sunday, and you'll be so much more able to enjoy Writercon for not having to worry about those days, at least. The *why* doesn't matter (much :/ )...take it and rejoice!

*snuggles you*

Good news about your aunt. It's about time someone else shouldered the load for a little.

Even though it's only for a couple of days, it'll make a nice break. I'm looking forward to Writercon without worry now.

I filled out a customer survey poll that popped up when I went to the BT site. It asked me which ISP I used, and I clicked the BT Broadband radio button. Then it asked me another couple of questions and then a questin appeared that asked if I would be interested in ordering BT Broadband. There was a text input box that was only available once you clicked 'No', so I did, and pointed out that this was a badly phrased question, given that I'd already said I had BT Broadband. A couple fo questions further on, there was yet another wuestion about the possibility of me signiung up with BT Broadband, so yet again I clicked the 'No' button and typed into their little box that the whole poll needed to be rewritten so that it actually took into account previous answers or, at the very least, give an 'already subscribed' choice of radio button. ASSHATS.

And today i got one from my local council asking how I felt about my most recent benefit claim. I filled it in completely honestly. I doubt they'll ask me again. *g*

~rolls eyes~ See? Stupid! Such thoughtless questions, and it makes you reluctant to help them because surely you're wasting your time. How can you get anything out of such a poor designed survey that doesn't even ask the right questions?

The carer's survey needed to be split into two separate parts, one part for me and one part for the person I care for, because our answers are *completely* different. You can't ask us both the same question and only give us the option of one response.
