Chapter 19: Jailbait

“I swear...I swear I will fucking kill you if you tell anyone about this,”Heechul hissed.

Jaejoong scoffed. “Fuck you, you asshole! Just like you didn’t tell anyone about me and Yoochun?”

“I said I wouldn’t tell anyone else. Yunho doesn’t count.”

“He’s the only one who counts!” Jaejoong yelled and stood up.

“Hey!” the police officer who was sitting at a desk stood up and walked up to their cell. “Keep it down in there.”

Jaejoong sat back down and glared at Heechul who was sitting on a bench on the other side of the cellt. “If I had superpowers you would be dead by now.”

“Shut up, idiot. I can’t believe you got us arrested.”

“It was your fault.”

“You threw the first punch.”

“You needed it.”

Heechul stared at his shoes. He had to take out the laces and give them to a police officer before getting put in a cell, because aparently it wasn’t unusual for people to hang themselfs with their shoelaces. “So who’s going to bail you out?”

Jaejoong shrugged. “Shirley didn’t pick up her phone, but I left a message...Did you...call Yunho?”

“I had to. He was supposed to pick me up at my parents’ house, but since I never even made it there, he’d get worried. And my dad would kill me if he found out I got arrested...”

“I guess I’m going to have to tel your dad, then.”

“I’ll fuck you up.”

“Like you did an hour ago? All you did was pull my hair and scratch my arm!”

“Because all you did was claw at me and try to ruin my face!”

“Keep quiet in there!”

They glared at each other again. This time Jaejoong looked away. “I don’t get you.”

“And why’s that?”

“Why did you reject Yunho when obviously you want him?” Jaejoong asked.

“That was years ago,” Heechul shrugged. “And I don’t want him. Why is that so hard to believe?”

“Because you’re all over him every time you get the chance? Duh,” Jaejoong said, rolling his eyes.

“It’s called being a friend. But I can see how the line between being friendly and being a slut can be confusing to you.”

“Says the whore of the year.”

“I’m not the one with the pile of slutbeads-“

“Okay, stop!” Jaejoong exclamed. He turned away from Heechul and stared at the wall.

“I don’t get you either,” Heechul said after a couple of minutes later. “I don’t get how you can just throw away the best boyfriend you’ll ever have. He never lied to you, he did everything for you and you repay him by forcing your sex on him, wanting him to stop seeing his best friend, cheating on him and then breaking up with him. I don’t get that.”

Jaejoong pulled his legs up against his chest and stared at the ground. “You never had a boyfriend, but you’ve always had Yunho. There were his parents and his brother and then there was you and then there was me. You always came first. So, yeah. You’re right when you say you don’t get it, because you’ll never know how it feels.”

“If you two ladies are done sharing your feelings, someone is waiting for you. He already collected your stuff.” The police officer opened the cell an let them out. Heechul walking a little bit slower, because otherwise his shoes would come off.

Outside in front of the building Yunho was leaning against his car, his hands deep in his pants pockets.

“Don’t talk. Just get in the car.” Yunho held the back door open and Heechul slowly got in.

“Yunho-“

“I said don’t talk, Jaejoong. Just get in the car. Your stuff is already inside.”

“But Shirley-”

“She’s not here.”

“Did you-“

“What do you not understand about ‘Get in the car?’” He snapped and Jaejoong quickly got in. Yunho slammed the door shut, startling both Jaejoong and Heechul.

Yunho got in the car and drove off. “I should have left you two idiots there. Seriously, getting into a fight? And seeing that none of you is even hurt I’m guessing it was a bitchfight too. You are unbelieveble. Call Shirley and tell her you’re already out, before she gets worried.”

It took Jaejoong a couple of seconds to realize he was talking to him. The bag with his stuff was sitting on the passenger’s seat in the front and Yunho handed it to him.

Instead of calling Shirley, he texted her. Honestly, he was scared she’d pick up this time.

Heechul grabbed his bag and started putting the shoelaces back in his shoes.

“You two are going to be the end of me one day,” he sighed and turned on the radio.

“It was my fault.”

Jaejoong turned around and saw Heechul locking eyes with Yunho in the rear view mirror.

“I was being annoying and he just got annoyed. I’m sorry, Jaejoong.”

Jaejoong stared at him, not knowing what to say.

‘Why do birds, suddenly appear, everytime, you are near~’

Yunho’s eyes shifted from Heechul to Jaejoong and he smiled. Both thinking of the time Jaejoong got attacked by a bird. That was right before they had what would later turn out to be miserable sex an before the terrible fight that would eventually be the beginning of the end of their relationship.

“I’m still mad at both of you,”Yunho then said. “Both of you are idiots. Idiots, idiots, idiots. I should have left you there for at least a night to learn you two dumbasses a lesson. I swear, if something like this ever happens again, don’t even think of calling me because I will break every bone in your body and ruin your pretty little faces with my fist...”

Yunho didn’t stop preaching and threatening them with physical harm. When they were halfway home Heechul started mimicking Yunho and Jaejoong had to fight back his laughter. Yunho realized what Heechul was doing and almost made the car crash into a tree trying to grab a hold of him.

Back in Shirley’s apartment, Shirley and Changmin were the only ones home.
