Mike gets his grandma a secondhand computer - maybe so she could play cards - but she happens upon the internet and decides to place personal ad for him online, wanting him to get friends - or more-than-friends - better than Trevor. Harvey happens upon the ad and is intrigued by the stuff Grandma mentions (the eidetic memory, some stuff about Mike's past, etc). The ad has information about, maybe, some rundown place where Mike works, so Harvey decides to visit and just not mention the ad, then begins falling for Mike.

OR Harvey and Mike become a couple after meeting online. Um, yeah, that sounds simpler. I just want something very vaguely inspired by Because I Said So (in which I hate everything, tbh, except Gabriel). Yeah.

And I agree with you. I only watched that movie for Gabriel. I HATE Diane Keaton so so so much.

Oh yes yes. I just posted a (very different) prompt inspired by watching this movie on E! tonight. It's a shame it wasn't on DVD so I could have just fast forwarded through all the non-Macht parts. Oh Gabriel, so awesome and pretty, why don't you get better movie parts?

Someone should write this.

I love Gabriel, but I probably wouldn't buy the movie. It was just...meh; I only liked his scenes (OMG, his outfit!), so you're lucky for skipping to them, and I hope someone fills your prompt, too! :D

OMG I'd never seen this movie before, but I looked it up when I saw this prompt. Gabriel with a kid is just soooo cute! *melts*

I think I may have to write this. I'm thinking I'll still have lawyer!Harvey but also father!Harvey too. If I do it, it probably won't be much like the movie (no competeing boyfriend) but the meeting will still be the same.

I felt like the whole mother-screening-boyfriends-for-daughter thing was similar to the Donna-screening-applicants-for-Harvey thing, so I kind of combined them in this fic. I'm not sure if I'm going to go with Harvey having a kid or not.
