Oh, this was lovely and perfect. Thank you so much for filling it with such incredible sensitivity, respect, and emotion. One of my best friends in the world is transgendered, and while that's a slightly different situation, there's a lot of parallels - I've seen her struggle through the pain and humiliation and shame of being rejected or judged or called a freak, and it hurts on a level I can't even describe to see her go through that, to see people look at her and see nothing but their own prejudices. You did awesome with portraying Mike's uncertainty, fear, hope, and strength, and Harvey was just awesome in his responses. The last line? PERFECTION. Just... I cried, honestly. I don't even have words ( ... )

GIVE HER HUGS FOR ME!!! I have so much respect for people like her, it takes so much strength and bravey for them to be true to themselves. I just... Respect, and love, tell her that for me, okay?

I tried to be very respectful in writing this fic. I definitely knew I didn't want to focus on biology, but I wondered at times if I'd over done it on the angst. Intersex people can be strong and proud of who they are, and I worried about characterizing Mike as too tragic in this. Honestly, it's impossible to really understand unless you've gone through it, and I'm not sure it was even my place to attempt this fic.

But thank you, it means so much. I'm so happy that people seem to have a lot of love for this fic, and for what it talks about.

I will be sure to hug her lots for you and pass on the message. She is very strong and amazing and I am always so in awe of her strength and her ability to be herself despite most of the world telling her she's wrong.

I don't think you overdid it on the angst at all. I think that anyone who is different in a significant way has to go through the pain of feeling like an outsider, and that leaves scars no matter how strong you are or how much pride and self-love you manage to develop. Especially in cases where it involves something so incredibly intimate, personal, and taboo. Sex with another person means opening yourself up and making yourself vulnerable in many ways, and I think if there is anything about you in that regard that is different it makes the situation far more frightening and the potential rejection far more painful. I'm so glad someone prompted this and that you filled it - it's great for people to talk about and acknowledge the gray areas in gender, because it makes it less taboo and more human. :)

One of the best fics I have read this far.... please can we have a sequel...Thank you so much for an intersex fanfiction.... they are so rare...
