WE'RE NOT DOING A TRAGEDY THIS SUMMER. IN FACT, IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE SHAKESPEARE. Are you recording this? Has Ripley's been called? IF anyone keels over from shock, I'll get flowers

Not that any of mine would audition but you still have Paige for sets.
BUT A MUSICAL WOULD BE FUN.
Um... Gypsy comes to mind because my sister and I were talking about it yesterday. Or Brigadoon because it would be amusing for Fandom to do a musical about a magical village.
He could always go with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. It'd be like a nicotine patch of not doing Shakespeare!
It would have to do with that play though.
Alternately: Wilde might be a good choice. Personally, I love David Ives. Neil Simon's always popular.
For some reason, my brain keeps providing me with heavy drama instead of comedy. GET WITH THE PROGRAM BRAIN.
(If it weren't for the fact that the musical hasn't even been written yet for Geoffrey, I'd totally say they should be doing East Hastings. "Look at Luuuuluuuuu, Lulu's stopped her cryyyyyyyin'. . . .")
I know! I'm so terribly tempted to have it be like... The Drowsy Chaperone or something because I'm a horrible person, but I don't have the text available.
R&GareDead is terribly TERRIBLY tempting. I love that play, and the movie, and the EVERYTHING. But yes, Geoffrey borks.
He could attempt to order, like, Peter Schaffer from the script company and end up with the rights and scripts to R&G instead! And it's too late to do anything else because he doesn't have the money for another set of rights, so it's either that or, like, do something public domain and terribly high-school-theater-esque!
My first thought was: Ooh! The Birds is too obscure, right? and my second was Ahaha! A play where the plot involves withholding sex!!! Fandomites would totes protest!

I'd sell both kidneys if we found a way for the musical to be metaSpring Awakening.
