*Can be seen on the steps in the manor reading a book, a slight frown on his face as he looks between the book and a dictionary*

Umm...Appeal...*flipping through the book* Uh...then we have....malum prohibitum...Which means what? *sighs* Man, who knew laws could be so confusing?

*nearly trips over him*

Kind of a strange place to be reading, isn't it?

Huh? Oh sorry... Morgan's still in the room, and I didn't want to bother him.

If you always talk out loud when you're reading, then I can understand.

*vaguely recognizes one of those books* ...what are you looking for?

*faint blush* I'm not a very good reader, I can read kids books, and that's mostly the best I can do.

I'm just looking up the laws here. *shows him* I thought it would be a good idea to familiarize myself with them. *looks back down* But it uses such big words.

Oh! Hey Faylen! *holds up the book* It's the laws of Budehuc...since no one seems to know them.

They use a ton of big words though like this one...usurious which means....*looking the dictionary* "referring to the interest on a debt which exceeds the maximum interest rate allowed by law" and it's a adj...What the heck is a adj?

::not too good with reading either::

An adj...uhhh, I don't know. Isn't it in the dictionary? It's s'pposed to have every word ever in it right?

Yeah, *looks up...* Hmmmm.........Nope, it's not there. There's adjective though where it should be.

It's so politicians and judges will always have the upper hand and there will be plenty of loop holes for those higher up in society.

[Cheery, isn't he?]

Well, I think it is possible for everyone to have equal rights! Sure some people are smarter than others, and some are born into better situations, but that doesn't mean they ARE better.

::peering at him curiously:: My, those are words far beyond what I thought possible for one of your standing.

*looks at him with narrowed eyes* And what do you mean by that?

Why that you have improved yourself far beyond what any have thought possible! Why to believe a gladiator could be taught to read. It is astonishing indeed!

You should feel great pride in such an accomplishment!

*still looking at him with narrowed eyes* I always knew how to read. Most of us did. We were taught by the others who could.
