Preoccupation Without Representation

...I assured you all I'd let you in on Cecile's condition...

...She wasn't too well, the ugly truth. I expected the worst...

...never mind you how I felt about it. That isn't a mattering factual and I'd prefer ( Read more... )

So basically you found a mysterious pair of bookends? That's weird for you, since you know every inch of the library.

*is suspicious of Eike, never-failingly*

...Well. Yes. I'm assuming they were put there yesterday...I wasn't in the library as much yesterday...

**deadpan glare**

....Hold on...did you...?

...You can never be sure...who is going to be okay...learn that now. But if you're very curious, shes doing better than worse...or so they say.

...she wasn't but half alive when I saw her...

Oh now that's quite the mystery!
Perhaps they were placed there as a gift? A secret admirer?

...I wouldn't imagine a gift...I don't believe I have any admirers...

**feels odd at the thought, as if told something against the laws of physics**

*reads carefully between the lines...he's been around Eike before*

I see. Thank you for the update, Eike. It would be wonderful indeed if she were improving. They won't let me near the infirmary to visit anyone at all.

**is mercilessly evaluated**

...Right, not to sound paranoid...but I'm hoping her good condition doesn't reach the ears of the wrong people...

Oh, come now, Mr. Eike. I was in the infirmary a while, Cecile looked just fine to me. Why, I even spoke with her a little. *wistful smile* I got her to smile for me. I'd say that's a considerable improvement from where she must have been.

....I see. That is good...right...? Forgive me for my pessimism.

I should hope it's good. That little smile warmed my heart.

Not to worry, my good man. You've been close to her for a long time, I would imagine. Sometimes worries get the better of us, when our loved ones are in danger. I know it all too well.

...Oh...yes...thats a good sign...

**finds it impossible to respond to that rightly**
