We got the email this morning. Our university President, whom I dubbed affectionately Major Minor Magoo, died of lung cancer. He was just diagnosed about five months ago, and he didn't even smoke

Liz, I will be there for Minor's memorial service. And I'll stay on for the next day, which is my birthday! Or we can celebrate the night of the 25th... since no one has classes on that day anymore. Kristin might come down too. But maybe we should keep the day sacred, in honor of Minor. What an amazing man.
