Lightroom users...

I was trying to work in Lightroom a few nights ago, and the computer slowed to a snail's crawl. I finally gave it the three finger salute (as Scott put it) and discovered the Applications tab in the Task Manager had a list a mile long of "Bezel." First find an external bulk input device (commonly mistaken for a brick) and apply firmly to the side of the computer. With enough applications any error will naturally disappear.

Have you read this? It sounds like the software just isn't ready yet. You have to cripple it to use it properly.

From what I skimmed, you have to turn off/tone down features to be able to use it without it slowing down.

I've never used Lightroom on Windows and I've never seen any problems. The Luminous Landscape tutorial does recommend rendering the standard sized previews on import, which just makes sense really. I'm also using more than one library as well.
