I have a wifi-only iPad. I often use it to read Stuff when I'm out of wifi spots - travelling to/from work, say. I download a bunch off new stuff while I'm in range, for various apps: mail, webpages, twitter.
The default twitter app sucks, for this purpose.

I've tried Twidroyd, Seesmic, Tweetcaster, and the official client, and unfortunately, none of them satisfies those requirements completely.
I've taken to favourite-ing links I want to read later, then (when I remember) view my favourites on my "real" computer and un-favourite as I go. Except I often forget to do this ...
... actually, I also have Tweetcaster on iPad, and it seems to behave better than the Android version on some of those counts (seems reasonably good at holding my position, and not spontaneously dumping the last n hours of tweets).
And sometimes, none of the clients let me go back more than (roughly) 10 hours, which is very frustrating (Seesmic seems to do this less often, but still does it sometimes ...). That's basically the night plus ride-to-work time, if I don't check over breakfast ...
