Title
Notifications for community membership removal

Short, concise description of the idea
Much like "defriending" notifications or "maintainership removal" notifications, I would like to have "membership removal" notifications issued to the user in question when someone else removes their membership from a community.

Full description of the idea ( Read more... )

communities, community membership, notifications, § no status

I like this idea. It would likely cause more immediate drama, because if someone's removed from a community against their will, they're likely to be cranky about it, but it cuts down on the weird guessing games (when was I removed, what did I do that was immediately before my removal), and if someone's going to be cranky, they would probably also have been cranky when they discovered it whatever amount of time on down the road. (If they're in the middle of a flamewar or something and have just been removed and banned, they're likely to find out soon enough anyway when they come back to flame.) If a maintainer thinks someone's likely to start something, they can ban that user from the community and their personal journal as well, so if they come flaming around, it would have to be in an alternate journal and that would be ban evasion.

It shows up on the statistics tracker of friend add/removal, even though there's no notification sent.
