Makes sense, changing the name shouldn't change the unique id of the tag... if that's how it's set up. Although now that I'm thinking about how userpic names work, there probably isn't a unique id for tags.

Whatever. It would be cool if the subscriptions changed along with the renaming.

Combine doesn't exist yet. If it's implemented what I think of as the easy way (add existing, destination tag to all entries, then delete source tag) it would not make sense to the programmer to treat it as a rename. But if you treat combine as a black box, which is how the user thinks of it (average user), then it would totally make sense to treat it as a special rename.

Now the fun thing would then be if the user had a subscription existing already to both the source tag and the destination tag. Either they wind up with duplicate subscriptions, or they wind up with one subscription and one gone missing. (Or errored out in some fashion.) But that edge case would have to be accounted for.
