Add option to receive notifications *only* by email

Short, concise description of the idea
Rather than always having to have inbox messages, I would like the option to receive only email messages for notification types.

I've made this suggestion before and I keep hoping it will actually happen. Because I have the exact same problem. Maybe it will, this time.

Autoexpire and marked as read, if desired. This I could get behind. Otherwise, I'd just like to support the OP's suggestion as is. (The little number in parentheses, as seen on the profile page or anywhere the default LJ header is seen, drives me nuts. Okay, more nuts.)

Is that part of one of the new (now standard) site schemes? I've never seen that.

Yes please! I've been wishing for this option forever.

I'd love to not have to wade through duplicates of comments I've already read in my e-mail in order to find the private messages etc. in my inbox.
