It used to be easier to recruit new users.

Full description of the ideaI realized a friend of mine would be perfect for LJ. I went looking for an easy invite to send them and could not find one

Aha, banner blindness! I know where the things I use on that very very very top menu are, but blithely ignore the rest, unless it has cakes or pumpkins or something weird.

Both the horizon and vertigo menus have links to the invite page. It's also on the site map.

On the menus, it's grouped with
Post | Messages | Friends Page | Invite | Mobile

It also links to the Find Your Friends page which, while there are a couple of things that aren't working quite right (such as connecting to hotmail accounts) should let you select people you want to invite from some types of existing online address books.

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone is flaming you, just pointing out that the feature does exist.

This. Don't sweat it, OP. Even Azz admitted that she missed seeing the feature, which is why the suggestion got posted, and she's pretty keen on which features exist. We're all human. <3
