I think clarifying error messages is in general a good idea.

Yes, indeed. Or, at least a link to FAQ 212 along with the error message, so that the user won't have to go through the inconvenience of hunting it down. =P I admit, though I used to be a Comms SH, I sometimes still occasionally have to stop and think about the meaning of the error messages because they throw me off. ^^;;
