ScrapBook Suggestion

Short, concise description of the idea
In ScrapBook it would be very useful to have a 'scale all pictures' to a certain dimension instead of having to do it one by one.

Full description of the ideaI often upload pictures directly from my camera and so I have to reduce the scale of the picture one by one. I think it'd be a ( Read more... )

Not a criticism, but this is not something I'd expect a website to handle. I personally do all my resizing on my computer using ImageMagick, as it allows me to resize lots of picture in one command line; I can't imagine that there aren't similar tools for Windows and/or Mac.

I wouldn't be opposed to it as long as it didn't increase the upload time or the load on the servers.

Agreed.

Again, agreed -- but I can't see how it WOULDN'T impact those things.

If you upload pictures through the windows explorer uploading thingy it gives you the option to resize your pictures (unfortunatly only to 3 different sizes).

Other than that, I don't mind if this is implemented even if I don't need it, as long as it doesn't cause any problems.

Ah, I'm on a mac. I know that there is an iPhoto plug-in, but I don't use iPhoto due to memory issues.

Scrapbook needs a lot more love for it to become really usable, IMO. This sounds like a good feature to add. Personally, I love Flickr's automatic resizing upon upload, but I'd be happy with being able to choose multiple pictures at a time for resizing. I agree that it would NEED to have the option to keep the original.

I'd definitely be more than happy with being able to choose multiple pictures a time for resizing if not resizing while uploading. One of the things that I really like about ScrapBook is it's clean design and I'd like to see that remain, but this could be a very good feature I think. I'm glad to see that you agree. :)

Scrapbook needs a major overhaul if you ask me. So anything to make it more user friendly and to make people want to use it is a BIG thumbs up to me.
