Unfortunately, Basic users are not able at this time to post polls even to permanent communities, so it would take a little more doing to implement, but I support the principle thoroughly.

I like the idea in principle, too, but yeah... What's to stop trolls and sock accounts from voting? XD; Maybe limit them by one per registered email address or per IP number? Not foolproof, but...

There's a poll suggestion out there to allow for poll responses to be removed from consideration, but at this time the poll owner of a community poll is the poster, not the maintainer (as I can't close old polls from other suggestions maintainers, hee).

While I like the idea, I have to wonder if it's worth the work to implement it...

I'll say thumbs up, with some reservations.

A poll seems nice but I wouldn't like the staff only to consider suggestions which affect a large portion of users. Some suggestions are about tools I don't have access to, features I don't use, accessibility or Support issues I'm not concerned by, etc. In other words things I, personally, may/should not care much about but actually still care about because they're important to other users. So I don't really like the way this is worded. I would prefer something like:

Or something like:

I think implementing this would be a significant improvement.
