We have Remembrance Day on 11 November in Australia, too, and I believe other Commonwealth countries celebrate it too. Maybe there's a worldwide charity, or the user can select from a list of organisations when they give the gift.

Believe it or not, Veterans selling poppies has been popular here in the United States for as long as I can remember! I've bought many, and even have some hanging on the bulletin board of my home office where I'm currently typing this...

So I love the idea, but don't think it should be UK-only.

(And I really adore Virtual Gifts...)

Didn't realise they did the same in the USA, I did ask my US friends, but they told me it didn't happen there...so yeah, it could be for a worldwide charity

*Nods* I'm in favour of this in general.

Although Remembrance Day is pretty much general around the world, even though it's called different things. So as the previous commentators have said, it might be better if there was a World Wide charity the proceeds could go to.

But I really love this. I'd certainly buy one for myself at the very least.

I wear them too. I am in the US, but I still remember, so this might make a great worldwide offer, even if the money only goes to one charity in one country.

I like the idea, but I know that navigating the politics of which charities fit a stringent set of requirements can be difficult. There were some criteria (not publicly linkable) that were in place to choose appropriate charities when 6A was in charge; I don't know if those have changed since SUP took the reins.
