Question: Is this performance issue with large numbers of tags related to why we reportedly (I have no experience with this) have a cap on the number of posts visible per tag? Meaning, you'll only be able to skip back to a certain number when viewing posts by a single tag.

??? I don't even know if this is still (or ever was) an issue. I need a place to test it...

The posts-visible-per-tag is a separate limit, and was originally 100 posts per tag, and is now 1000 posts per tag. (However, if you had 300 posts in the tag before the limit was raised, only the first 100 are going to be visible unless you retag the other ones.)

Anyway, yes! If we don't have to have the limits, if better code can make them unnecessary, I'm all for it.

That is a lot of tags, though. :P Suggestions comm only has 240, heh.

I think it would be great if the number of tags were fixed to be unlimited, if only for places like scans_daily.
