All you have to do is add "lj-security: friends" to the top of the message. It's not that hard :) More details!

I do think this is a cool idea that people would use, though.

YES. And don't just limit it to Sidekicks; make it applicable for all Smartphone devices.

I use a Dash, where LJ's main site works decently (though far from perfectly), but some pages don't work due to JS and other scripting. The Mobile site works in a pinch but is EXTREMELY limited. And the existing Mobile LJ client, which is mostly good for posting things to ScrapBook, is also severely limited; you can't even use HTML codes in it, nor does it have the full functionality of the Rich Text Editor (which I hate anyway).

I would gladly pay a few bucks a month for a client that is optimized for Smartphones.
