As someone who has been a Blackberry user for almost two years and loves the special facebook (and lately - myspace) clients that are available on it, I'm ENTHUSIASTICALLY in support of this idea. In fact, I was going to submit it as a request until I found there already was one.

A reduced function LJ client that would make it easy to keep up on friends list posts and to create journal posts would be a wonderful addition.

I would like to have this too. I also submitted a suggestion and was directed here. My question is if I was directed here why isn't anything happening about it? I can assure you there are plenty of Blackberry users and with them becoming more affordable by the day the numbers will keep growing.

Developers do not always choose to create certain features even when they have widespread support. I'm not sure what their reasoning is for not having developed a Blackberry client at this point in time, and I'm unaware of whether they're working on one currently.

All the support in comments here, and the other people who have been submitting suggestions but not leaving comments, does mean that employees are aware that there is interest.

It's also possible for non-LJ developers to create LJ clients. Many of LJ's existing clients for other platforms were created this way, and were then listed by LJ as a courtesy. Some developers who like working with Blackberry development as a hobby may wind up creating a Blackberry client even if there is no official LJ-built client released.
