Title
S1 users can define "fallback" S2 style for tags and other non-supported features

Short, concise description of the idea
Users of S1 styles should be able to pick the default S2 style that is used in cases where S1 styles are not supported (such as tag aggregation).

I do not feel that it's needed to give an ability to customize a fallback style. However, an ability to select it would be nice.

That's true. I wasn't thinking full-scale customization for the S2 as much as just the really basic stuff, like choosing colors.

Because of the way S2 works, it would be very difficult to split "really basic stuff, like choosing colors" from other options, so it would be easier to provide the full customization wizard. I dislike it, either.

However, I think devs should implement an ability to select your own S2 layer as a fallback, too. This will provide you a tricky way to customize your fallback in exactly the way you like.

(disclaimer: not representing LJ/6A here, this is purely my own opinion)

I like this idea (actually, I think I suggested it in a comment on a similar suggestion :)). Partly because it's a nice thing to do, and partly because it might encourage some more people to use s2 once they see it isn't that scary a switch.

I thought all tag pages look like that, even with S2?

Nope. :) Yours vs. Marcus (the OP's). Marcus is using S1, you're using S2.

suggestions is also using S2, and has a custom style on their tags page.

Of course, the fun comes in when you've got a S2 user like me who'd LIKE to have the option to use that particular S1 layer, but doesn't know where to find it, nor how to implement it. Heck, I'd like that sparse, clean look all across the parts of LJ that aren't already set for me by other people.
