Okay, dumb question, but couldn't you also open a new tab or new window and just type in the user's journal address?

Additionally, I thought that *purged* journals, being purged, wouldn't show up on any membership lists or friends lists, since a purged journal's content is completely removed from the servers, and the name of that journal is available for renaming. It should only be deleted and suspended journals that should be showing up, shouldn't it? And depending on what's going on there, it could be a temporary deletion or a temporary suspension...

I stand corrected-- I just found a "deleted and purged" member on my community. Huh.

If that's the case, shouldn't a related suggestion be that deleted-and-purged journals be removed *automatically* from the member lists of communities? 'Cause if it's purged, wouldn't whatever user who gets the name have to become a member anyway? Does the name get removed when the name of a journal that's deleted and purged gets purchased and reused on a new journal? I guess at that point, the purged journal name would become renamed to ex_journalname... This is probably related to the fact that community entries and comments don't disappear when a journal is deleted, nor when the journal is purged; I think only the entries and comments from suspended users actually get removed...

Weird. All of that stuff seems to work in a manner completely opposite from what I would have expected.

I've asked that purged members be automatically removed from members lists in another suggestion.

I could, of course. It's just that I've always found this the quickest way to do it. I middle click, it opens the page, I check to see if this is a purged account, I close the page et voilà! Browsing pages and pages of usernames is already a tedious task so anything that slows me down is bad in my book. :)

For similar reasons I would like the deleted et. al usernames to appear linked on the Edit Friends page (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/edit.bml) and on their support requests.
