I like this idea, but why limit what can be given in the gifts? Why not allow any of the gifts that can be given on LiveJournal to be "put inside" (paid accounts/gift certificates of any size/even perm accounts when they are available)?

Perhaps an optional date on which the gift could be "opened" could also be added, allowing someone to have their birthday presents, for instance, waiting on their profile.
