Allow SpinVox to automatically transcribe Friends Only entries

Short, concise description of the ideaI have my minimum journal security level set to Friends Only, and enjoy the convenience of auto-transcription for my shorter voice-post entries. However, it's currently not possible for SpinVox to transcribe these entries unless they are posted ( Read more... )

How do people feel about making SpinVox transcribe all voice posts, and then if you don't want any of your voiceposts transcribed, you disable it (on http://www.livejournal.com/manage/emailpost.bml)? That would be much easier than implementing anything more granular than that.

Sounds like a good enough modification to the idea, Abe, so long as it can be done without compromising the security built in to user's friends lists, etc. I wasn't sure if it could be done without an automatic account, hence the idea of a "lj_spinvox" account. :-)

Sounds good to me! Besides, it would eliminate the need to change my default minimum security level just to ensure transcription of my voice posts that most likely wouldn't have any sensitive content anyway. :D

Besides having a patent on such a process, there are also many signs consistent with that theory. (I'm not sure whether that essay was ever completely finished by the author, but even half formed it makes many good points as is.)
