Switching between accounts

Short, concise description of the idea

http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=199&q=switch&view=full explains how to post to another journal you know the username and password to without logging out. This feature does not allow you to post to the communities of the second account.

I think the request is to be able to have other journals in your "work as user" menu.

Which I could see as useful. Though I'm not sure how to handle communities if that is done.

That's post-only, though. This would be more useful for actual management.

Just in case something like this is never implemented, there is a way to easily do this if you use Firefox as your browser:

Or even just have one account logged in on IE, one on Firefox, one on Opera, one on Konqueror, one on Seamonkey...

I use Safari as my main browser and am permanently logged into my main account (this one). I use Firefox and ljlogin to post to my icon journal and character journals for an RPG. I don't mind using LiveJournal in this manner, because I only need to log in as my icon journal and character journals to make posts and change the profile (out-of-character stuff is accomplished with my personal journal, not character journals). So, I don't personally need this proposed feature.

Other people's mileage varies, and I know that this would probably be fairly popular. I have no idea how it would be implemented, but I give it a thumbs-up.

This would be useful, if it is possible to implement in some way. Currently I have one account permanently logged in Firefox and another (that I don't use as often) in IE: and that's really because when I do use that second account, I must be logged in my main account too for various reasons.

Then to complicate matters I have two other secondary accounts: while I can update them using the ?altlogin update page, I cannot add the new entries to the memories of the appropriate account (although I set up that friends of those accounts can add tags, and as such can do at least that while still logged into my main account).

There's a third journal, which I use mainly for testing, and it's a community, which gives me a better access to it, without the necessity to log out: I can modify any settings or customizations, post to it, add tags and pretty much anything. Maybe you should consider a closed community in the meantime?
