This could get annoying.

Sounds on webpages=bad, unless the user specifically turns them on. So incredibly no.

The user should have the option of enabling them. The default must be "no"; sounds on Web pages = teh suk.

I don't like the idea as a default, but would maybe support it if it were a module on MyLJ, so you can check it out if you so wish, and more importantly, can choose whether to display/use that module or not.

That also means that frank-with-sound will only be seen by those people who use MyLJ regularly -- not sure whether other people will consider it a pro or a con. For me though, it's definitely a pro.

I too hate unexpected sound on web pages, but it really could be cute.

afuna has a good idea. This could be a fun opt-in feature for the MyLJ Frank.

Low priority, though.

I actively hate sound on webpages; I've left a couple of otherwise perfectly good ones because they had certain elements that made a sound on load or on mouseover, and it looks like I'm not the only one who feels that way.

But at the same time, the idea is cute; it just doesn't seem to fit on the main pages. I'd point people to MyLJ though, if talking frank were ever made a module *g*.

I don't want to be surprised by sound on a webpage, nor do I want other people to be. I also don't want anything that would make the front page more difficult to keep compatible with a variety of browsers, including PDAs and screen readers and so on. Someone could do something like this in keeping with those two requests, so this isn't a complete "no don't do it".
