The Neopets themes would be seen sponcered layout themes. While I'm not personally against it -- judging by the brouhaha over sponsered communities, I wonder if they would create more drama than they're worth.

Well, I'm honestly asking the questions -- I don't know if it would count or not! It's the phrasing of this suggestion ("For Livejournal users who have never been exposed to Neopets, it would be a great way to introduce them to it and add to the membership base for Neopets.") that worried me; from what I recall, the Pixipets themes were presented as designs made solely for the purpose of enhancing LiveJournal with the linkback to Pixipets being merely authorial credit, while this suggestion is framing a Neopets theme as a way of enhancing the value of the offsite Neopets company.
